Ahhh, a new brush.

Finally got around to picking a up a new brush to ink with. My other ones are quite beat up. I'm happy with the inking on Charlie Chicken but I kind of rushed on Andy. Oh well.

Andy Panda Sketches

Some sketches of Andy Panda, which I have been watching probably too much lately. I inked one in Illustrator and as you can see, I need to work on getting a line to go from thick to thin. I find it even harder when working digitally.

A few studies while watching Chuck Jones cartoons.

Pat Mattews Studies

Just freeze framing some Pat Matthews scenes and trying to copy them as best I can.

Old Man

Messing around with Artrage still.

ArtRage Digital Painting

This is my first try at digital painting using ArtRage. It's a cool program that mimics the look and feel of real paints. I inked the pencils in Illustrator and then colored the lines in Photoshop before importing into ArtRage. It's only a first try and the only thing I'm happy with is the cat's nose. I basically tried to put to use the great info in Sherm Cohen's tutorials that he made for ArtRage and Illustrator.

Dialog Roughs

I threw some roughs together in Flash, I still have to revisit it and throw in the inbetweens.

Dialog Pencil Test

I'm trying to get used to drawing with a tablet directly in Illustrator, mostly I've just been using if for digital inks. Here's some doodles and a drawing that I inked in Illustrator.

Piggy Doodles

Just some more stuff from the "Piggy Song" video.

Hillbillies

Some more stuff from the "Piggy" video.

More Piggy Stuff

A couple more drawings from the video in progress.

Piggy Haha Ha Piggy Hoho Ho

Wow, no posts in two months. Not like you missed anything special. Here's a couple of crappers for ya. The first is a setup for a music video I'm making for a dumb song my friend Chris and I wrote over 12 years ago. Called, "The Piggy Song". Four chords (the best ones of course) and crappy singing and production. It was recorded in Chris' basement with my old Yamaha 4-track cassette recorder. What a pain in the ass, bouncing three tracks down to one then recording two more and bouncing those down to one so on. Anyway, when it's done I hope you think it's retarded. It will mostly be illustrations and cheap Flash animation. Think early Hanna Barbera, now cut even more corners.

Stimpy

Construction practice with Stimpy, from a model sheet and screen cap. I noticed that I've kind of crammed Stimpy's facial features in there. I guess back to more practicing.

A Robot

Just some construction practice with Mickey. Plus, Calvin for fun.

More Inking Practice

Some more practice with the ol' brush, copying some Pogo comics.

Inking Practice

I've been wanting to get back to practicing inking with a brush so I drew a couple things quick to ink. I have quite the hard time inking large circular shapes in one continuous stroke but when I stop and restart the line it gets all screwed up. Any tips?

Sketch Dump

Just some junk and Samurai Jacks.

Long time no post, so here's some crappy doodles.
