I finally downloaded the rest of Nat Falk's "How To Make Animated Cartoons" from the Animation Archive the other day and decided to print out that and Preston Blair's original printing of his book and combine it with a load of model sheets and bind it all up. Now I've got everything nice and organized, instead of having papers all over the place.
I was reading Nat Falk's book and the last page had pictures of two key drawings and suggested as practice to then go and draw the breakdown and inbetweens. So I figured I'd give it go. Here's my feable attempt. Excuse the sloppyness, I didn't use a light box or peg bar. Also, I inserted blanks so as not to screw up the timing. I don't like looking at held poses where there should be inbetweens. I'm going to finish this off I think and then try working from the other keys.

I'd like to see you finish this off. When the dog jumps up it works. You got to get those inbetweens in.

Where did you get all the old model sheets shown in your picture?
Hi Brian, most of these are scans from different books I have and some I've found online here and there. I've posted loads of model sheets on my other blog and the resolution should be high enough that if you printed them they won't look all pixelated. wow what a great idea! i've printed out the blair book, and my friend pete and i compiled a lot of notes we found into a pdf, but nothing beats a hard copy!
you're definitely the model sheet king too! there's a couple i'm lookin for i might have to shoot you an email too! and i'll have to look at that falk book, i really like that inbetweening exercise, it's really important! i've been trynig to get something like taht togeter by using the model sheets you've posted! thanks for all the posts!

COOL! nice. Man it's refreshing to see people animating. this is great. I hope you finish up the inbetweens (do them ruff maybe hehehe).
