Apple Andy Studies

I've really love the great poses in "Apple Andy" so I've been freeze framing it and drawing them. This is one of my all time favorite cartoons.

Great drawings Kevin! Those poses are great, I love the expressiveness of the hands, particularly in the last two drawings. I have never seen this cartoon before but it looks cool.

Great drawings Kevin! I haven't seen much as far as Lantz cartoons go but you and Thad have got me searching like a maniac for them now! Where is this available on DVD? Thanks for all your work on both the blogs it's endlessly inspiring!

Thanks for the nice words guys. I don't think this is available of DVD, maybe it was on the Woody Woodpecker and Friends collection that Columbia House release awhile back. My copy is from a VHS tape I found on Amazon. It's called the World of Andy Panda. Keep your fingers crossed that the set that Jerry Beck is trying to get released by Universal comes out. Word is it's coming in July, though there's been no official announcement.

I've always liked this design for Andy, despite the somewhat over-blown cheeks! Nice job catching the poses and angularities, therein.

"Apple Andy" was available from Castle Films for Home Movie use for many years. I have a Black & WHite print, but my father-in-law has a really nice color print. FWIW

Oh, and thanx for the birthday wishes!
